HDPE Recycling

Recycled HDPE

High Density Polyethylene, commonly referred to as HDPE is a thermoplastics polymer renowned for being low cost and fit for purpose into many varying applications ranging from food packaging through to underground pipe. Here in Australia, HDPE is the predominant packaging medium for Dairy “Milk” products in the form of rigid bottles.

Pre and post-consumer HDPE is highly recyclable and with recent advancements in mechanical recycling technology, Post-consumer HDPE can and is being recycled back into FDA compliant “Food contact” resin.

Martogg has recently commissioned a Refresher Unit, the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere to process and convert Post-consumer HDPE back into high quality, food contact resin.

The Refresher Unit will ensure that 6000 tonnes of post-consumer HDPE waste is recycled here in Australia and provided to packaging Manufacturers and Brand owners to further contribute to the circular economy.

HDPE Supplier

Martogg Group has been supplying the Australian plastics industry since with High Density Polyethylene since 1975. HDPE is tough, lightweight and most importantly approved for food packaging and storage.

It is also suitable as an engineering plastic for tanks and pipe grade constructions. The versatility of HDPE makes it one of the most commonly used plastic types across a variety of applications and industries.

We are committed to leading the Australian plastics industry towards a sustainable future. This requires innovation in our recycling and life cycle management sectors. We are recycling HDPE into a completely safe and reusable form to reduce the impact on the environment and help brands across Australia choose more sustainably sourced forms of packaging for their products.

After years of supplying HDPE to Australian business we are now offering a sustainable option in the form of recycled HDPE. By breaking down used HDPE plastics, recycling them and re-distributing we are creating a more sustainable practice through our life cycle management department.
